A Moleben Service

A Moleben is a service of intercession or supplication that is closely related to the paraklesis service in the Greek tradition. Molebens may be served according to need, e.g., for one who is ill or going on a journey; they may be commemorative (assigned to a particular day), such as the beginning of the new year, or when children begin school; or they may be devotional, in honor of a particular saint. At Holy Trinity, we also do a brief Moleben service on the first Sunday of each month in honor of St Xenia of St. Petersburg.
